Tips for Planning and Packing for Your Cruise Vacation

Are you going on your first cruise and wonder what you should wear? The first thing you should do is determine the weather for the season at your destination. While you consider what styles to take along- take this advice: Keep it simple; Keep it comfortable; and be prepared for everything!

While you are deciding what to bring and what to pack, don't stress about it. One thing you'll want to know is: is this a 'FreeStyle' Cruise or are there dresscodes in place? This information is available through your chosen cruise line and the guidelines have been changing in recent times.
  • If you plan to hit the beach while in port or spend your days by the pool, bring your favorite Bikini or One Piece Swimsuit (or take 2 or 3-they're small) and some form of cover-up (a dress, shirt or sarong, depending on which cover-up style you like)  Whatever you normally wear on the beach... just step it up a notch for the resort or cruise. You're on vacation!
  • For casual dining or shopping- beach style skirts, pants, shorts, tops, and flowy summer beach style dresses will be perfect to wear on your cruise vacation. Don't forget the trendy and cool Clubkini Tops; they work very well when you want to cover up a little more and still be casual.
  • For the captains dinner on the cruise, you will want to go formal and get really dressed up for the occasion. There are many elegant and classy styles available to wear for this special night on the cruise.

  • And WHITE... don't forget white... white works for both your casual cruise and formal wear as well. A lot can happen in a day on your cruise or at the resort! Casual or formal- wear what you love and cruise for fun!
